She's also a mother (and that's important too). She makes the case that science is enriched and made sacred if wedded to indigenous wisdom and the old teachings about plants as non-human fellow citizens of Earth whom we need to respect. Hence the Honourable Harvest, where we take only what we need, and ask - and thank - our providers.
